How to Nominate?
• First, on the homepage of the National Awards Portal, under the heading ‘Nominations for Ongoing Awards,’ click on Padma Awards 2026.
• Then click on the ‘Nominate/Apply Now’ button.
• Now select the award category.
• Then select the field (area of excellence) in which the person wishes to be nominated.
• Write the sub-field (if any).
• If the person wants to nominate themselves, select the option ‘Do you want to nominate yourself?’
• If the person wants to nominate someone else, select the option ‘Do you want to nominate someone else?’
• Enter the details of the person being nominated.
• If the nominee’s date of birth is not available, select the option ‘Date of birth not available’ and then specify the ‘Age.’
• If the nominee is no longer alive, select the option ‘If the nominee is posthumous (not alive), click here’ and choose the ‘Year of death.’
• Then enter further details. Click on ‘Save and Next’ to proceed with the nomination process.
• Enter the details of the person you are nominating.
• If the person has not received a Padma Award earlier, please select the ‘No’ option.
• If the person has previously received a Padma Award, please select the ‘Yes’ option and enter the details.
• If the person has received any other award earlier, select ‘Yes’ and provide the details.
• Attach a photograph of the person you are nominating along with other supporting documents.
• If you want to preview the application form, click on ‘Preview,’ and if you want to edit the form, click on ‘Edit Application.’
• Click on the declaration box and then click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.

How to Register an Individual?
• First, visit the official website.
• Then, on the homepage, click on the ‘Registration’ or ‘Login’ button.
• After that, click on the ‘Individuals’ button and select the type of nominee (e.g., Citizen, Chief Minister, Governor, NRI, Foreigner, etc.).
• Then fill in your first name, last name, Aadhaar number, and other requested details.
• Select the identification method, which includes Aadhaar verification, PAN card, passport, driving license, etc.
• Then provide your Aadhaar number, passport, PAN card number, and other details.
• Complete the verification process and submit the OTP received on your mobile.
• Now set a new password and enter the captcha.
• Then click on the ‘Save’ button.
• After registration, the login ID will be sent to your mobile number.
• Then log in and nominate.

Registration for an Organization or Institution
• First, visit the official website.
• Then, on the homepage, go to the ‘Registration’ or ‘Login’ button.
• Click on the ‘Organisation’ button.
• Then select the type of institution.
• Now enter the organization’s name, the name of the authorized person, and other details.
• Select the identification method, which includes Aadhaar verification, PAN card, passport, driving license, etc.
• Then enter the mobile number and email ID and submit.
• You will receive an OTP on your mobile; enter it to complete the verification process.
• Then set a new password and fill in the captcha before submitting.
• In the next step, click on ‘Save.’
• After that, the login ID link will be sent to the provided mobile number.
• Now log in and nominate.

Note that the Padma Awards are of three types: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. These awards are among the highest civilian honors in the country.
