Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 Series: The Champions Trophy 2025 was nothing short of a nightmare for the Pakistani team, where they failed to win even a single match, let alone the title. Even after the Champions Trophy, the Pakistani team continues to struggle for a victory. The Pakistan cricket team is currently playing a five-match T20 series against New Zealand. Several senior players have been dropped from the team for this series, and as a result, Salman Ali Agha is leading the side. Under his captaincy, Pakistan faced a 9-wicket defeat in the first T20 match against New Zealand, giving the Kiwis a 1-0 lead in the series.

Pakistani Batsmen Flop
In the first T20 match against New Zealand, neither the Pakistani bowlers nor the batsmen could perform well. Batting first, the Pakistani team was bowled out for just 91 runs. Their poor performance was evident as they couldn’t even play the full 20 overs. Khushdil Shah did try to steady the innings for the team, but he couldn’t play a big knock. Eight of the team’s batsmen failed to reach double digits.

Kiwi Team Easily Chases Target
New Zealand chased down the target of 92 runs with ease. For the Kiwi team, Tim Seifert played an excellent innings of 44 runs. Phil Allen contributed 29 runs, and Tim Robinson added 18 runs. Thanks to these players, New Zealand secured a 9-wicket victory. On the bowling front, Kyle Jamieson and Jacob Duffy delivered outstanding performances for the Kiwi team. Together, they claimed 7 wickets. Jamieson gave away just 8 runs in 4 overs and picked up three wickets, completely dismantling Pakistan’s batting order. For his brilliant performance, he was awarded the Player of the Match.

Three Players Made Debut
This latest defeat after the Champions Trophy has added to the woes of the Pakistani team. Neither their bowlers nor batsmen are performing well. In this match, three players from Pakistan made their T20 International debuts—Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz, and Mohammad Ali. However, these players couldn’t make an impact.
